The team at Central Chilcotin Rehabilitation Ltd. (CCR) believes in creating safe, respectful, and inclusive communities, on the land and in our homes. This May, we join people across the country in standing with the Moose Hide Campaign, a grassroots movement to end violence against women, children, and all those who are vulnerable.
The Moose Hide Campaign is a powerful call to action, rooted in Indigenous teachings and values. It invites men and boys, in particular, to take responsibility and be part of the solution, while also welcoming people of all genders and backgrounds to stand in solidarity.
Our leaders at CCR have shared personal reflections on why this campaign matters:
“As a husband and father of young children, I believe it’s our responsibility to create a world where safety, respect, and equality are non-negotiable. Standing with the Moose Hide Campaign is one way I show my commitment to ending violence and building a better future for all families.” – Daniel Persson, Forestry Superintendent, Central Chilcotin Rehabilitation Ltd.
“Standing with the Moose Hide Campaign is about more than awareness; it’s about action. As leaders, we have a duty to speak up, support one another, and ensure that our communities, especially our women and children, are safe, respected, and protected.” – Percy Guichon, CEO, Central Chilcotin Rehabilitation Ltd.
“Ending violence starts with each of us. As men, as leaders, and as protectors of our families and communities, we must walk the talk, by standing up, speaking out, and creating a safer future for our women and children.” – Clayton Charleyboy, Director, Central Chilcotin Rehabilitation Ltd.
“For over 25 years, my work with the Tŝideldel First Nation has taught me that true strength is rooted in respect, compassion, and community. Supporting the Moose Hide Campaign is an extension of this lifelong journey — a pledge to stand against violence, to honour the sacred role of women and families, and to walk together in healing and reconciliation for the well-being of future generations.” - Philippe Theriault, General Manager, Tsi Del Del Development Corporation and Strategic Advisor, Central Chilcotin Rehabilitation Ltd.
“The Moose Hide Campaign recognizes that all forms of violence are unacceptable, and a disproportionate number of women and girls are victims of this. Bringing this to light can only improve society as a whole and hopefully end it for all.” - Joe Webster, Manager of Tsi Del Del Biomass.

Throughout this week and all year long, CCR stands united with the Moose Hide Campaign. We honour the lives lost to violence, and we commit to building a future where everyone, especially women and children, can live free from fear and harm.
