Central Chilcotin Rehabilitation Ltd. (CCR) will present at the Forest Professionals BC (FPBC) Conference, taking place February 4 - 6, 2026, at the Sheraton Wall Centre in Vancouver.

The breakout session, From Pressy Lake to Palmer: Fibre Utilization of Abandoned, Wildfire-Damaged Stands, will be held on Wednesday, February 4, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m., and will share how Indigenous-led leadership and technical forestry practices are being applied to rehabilitate wildfire-impacted forests in the Cariboo Chilcotin.

The presentation will be delivered by Daniel Persson, Registered Professional Forester (RPF), Forestry Superintendent with CCR, Joe Webster, Operations Manager of Tsi Del Del  Biomass Ltd., and Michael Tomlinson, RPF, P.Ag, Managing Partner with Consus Management Ltd. Together, they will provide an overview of CCR’s journey from early work to rehabilitate fire-damaged forests at Pressy Lake to the large-scale forest rehabilitation project in Palmer, drawing on real-world experience from projects across the region.

The session will highlight CCR’s approach to treating wildfire-damaged and previously overlooked forest areas, focusing on restoring forest health, reducing future wildfire risk, and creating steady employment opportunities for local First Nations communities. The two case studies, the Pressy Lake and Palmer Lake projects, will be used to illustrate how these approaches are being implemented on the ground, including key operational considerations, lessons learned, and outcomes achieved.

For CCR, participating in the FPBC Conference provides an important opportunity to share practical experience with forest professionals from across British Columbia and to contribute to broader conversations about forest rehabilitation, innovation, and long-term resilience following wildfire.
