Central Chilcotin Rehabilitation Ltd. (CCR) was named the recipient of the inaugural Indigenous Small Business of the Year Award by the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business (CCIB). The award was presented on October 15, 2026, during CCIB’s West Coast Business Forum & Awards Dinner at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre in Vancouver.
For CCR, the recognition reflects years of work in Indigenous-led forestry, forest rehabilitation, wildfire risk reduction, fibre utilization, and community-based economic development across the Cariboo Chilcotin.
“This award is a meaningful recognition for CCR and for the communities, crews, partners, and leadership who support this work,” said Percy Guichon, CEO of CCR and elected Councillor of Tŝideldel First Nation. “Our work has always been about taking care of the land while creating opportunities for our people. To receive the inaugural Indigenous Small Business of the Year Award is something we are very proud of.”
