Central Chilcotin Rehabilitation Ltd. (CCR) participated in the Council of Forest Industries (COFI) 2026 Convention, held April 8–10 at the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver.
Percy Guichon, CEO of CCR and elected Councillor for Tŝideldel First Nation, spoke on Session 11, The Forester Panel: Predictable and Economic Access to Wood, on April 10.
The session focused on practical approaches to improving fibre access, supporting forest conditions, and strengthening long-term stability in British Columbia’s forest sector.
During the session, Percy spoke to the challenges of fibre access, drawing from CCR’s work in forest rehabilitation, fuel management, and fibre utilization. His comments emphasized practical ways to enhance forest conditions, minimize risks, and utilize available wood fibre.
“Access to wood fiber depends on how we manage and care for the land," said Guichon. “Conversations like this are essential for creating opportunities within our communities.”
The session also explored how to strengthen fibre supply while supporting long-term forest health. CCR’s participation reflects its ongoing work in the region and its focus on contributing to discussions that are grounded in field experience.
